For a Wise transfer from Singapore to India, eligible SGD funding methods include a linked bank account, PayNow, debit card or an available Wise balance. Singapore-issued credit cards cannot fund these SGD transfers; Wise’s guide allows credit cards only when issued outside Singapore. Check your actual checkout options before relying on a card. Distinguish PayNow funding from India delivery
PayNow is a way to send Singapore dollars into the transfer. It does not replace the Indian recipient record. First create the SGD-to-INR payment, then use the payment instructions provided for the selected method. Verify the beneficiary and amount before approving the payment in your Singapore banking app.
Wise’s SGD guide distinguishes FAST funding, generally within 15 minutes, from GIRO funding, generally two to three working days. Those figures describe money reaching Wise, not the entire journey to India. SGD processing times.
Check eligibility before comparing speed
A payment from your personal account and a payment on behalf of an organisation may have different requirements. Wise lists restrictions for SGD payments involving charities, trusts, associations and public companies. If your payment involves an organisation, read the relevant restrictions instead of assuming the personal-transfer flow applies. SGD business restrictions.
For a personal family payment, confirm that the selected bank or card can cover the total charge and fits your bank’s payment limit.
Get the recipient details in writing
Use the recipient’s bank-record name, account number and IFSC for a bank deposit, or the eligible UPI details requested in checkout. Wise’s INR guide documents these delivery choices.
When a relative sends a new account number, confirm the change directly before paying. Keep the record you used with the transfer confirmation, so a later investigation can distinguish an incorrect instruction from a delayed credit.
Compare the recurring cost
If this is a monthly payment, record the ordinary SGD charge and INR amount as well as any introductory offer. A first-transfer discount answers what the first payment costs; it does not establish the cost of the next eleven.
